The Boathouse - king's school, worcester
Point Eight were chosen by national building contractor, Speller Metcalfe, to provide the speciaist joinery package for King's School Boathouse, a prestigious new £2.5m facility designed by Associated Architects.
The eastern bank of the River Severn in Worcester now boasts an iconic new landmark with the completion of the King's School Boathouse. The building, in the form of an upturned boat, has taken shape on the banks of the River Severn over the past 15 months thanks to the inspiration and generosity of former pupil, Michael Baker. It will provide state of the art facilities for the storage and maintenance of King's fleet of boats as well as teaching and training facilities for rowers which will be second to none in the country.
The specialist joinery work completed by Point Eight's skilled craftsmen included the manufacture and on-site installation of the following:
- Wall cladding
- Stair treads and balustrade
- Window reveals
- Maple flooring
- Trophy cabinet
