THIMBLEHILL LIBRARY

The newly refurbished Thimblemill Library has now fully reopened following an extensive and impressive renovation of the building. All of the work that has taken place was chosen to be sympathetic to the buildings’ classic features.

Working alongside the Library project team and Sandwell’s own architects department, Point Eight were asked to provide a completely bespoke style for the interior fixtures and fittings using stunning dark wood finishes combined with light maple to create a unique effect.

Dawn Winter, Principal Libraries Officer for Sandwell said "We are delighted with the new look – it provides modern, useable shelving but remains sensitive to the Art Deco style of the building."

One of Thimblemill’s more elderly users commented "After using the library for 50 years, I am most impressed with the new look – here’s to the next 50!"
